About the track
Atlanta Motorsports Park packs frequent direction changes and substantial elevation into a relatively short lap. It is a place to study how corners connect: the main circuit has 16 turns, so getting familiar with the sequence makes an onboard view much easier to follow.
AMP describes the road course as two miles long. Its track information also identifies 98 feet of elevation change. The setting in the North Georgia foothills is part of the driving experience, with climbs and dips that a simple overhead outline cannot fully communicate.
There are two distinct circuits on the property. This guide concerns the main car circuit; AMP’s kart track has a different layout and its own driving programs. Check that any video or map you study is for the main track, especially when searching for “AMP track guide.”
A little history
Founder Jeremy Porter developed AMP around a motorsports country-club model, with a circuit designed by Hermann Tilke. The park opened in 2012, already with nearly 100 members, according to its account of Porter’s role. The facility has grown around member driving, instruction, karting, and events rather than a single annual spectator race.
What runs here
- Member driving: Main-track memberships are a central part of AMP’s operation.
- Driving instruction: Primal Racing School offers performance-driving programs on the road course.
- Hosted track events: Visiting groups and private rentals provide additional ways to use the circuit; check eligibility for each date.
- Karting: Rental sessions, leagues, and kart instruction run on the separate kart circuit.
The official AMP website explains the available programs. A karting booking and a main-track driving event are different experiences, so confirm which program you are selecting.

Simulation guide: This video uses rFactor 2 and an Alpine A110 Cup car. It is a corner-by-corner guide to the main circuit, with chapters for the numbered turns. Use it to learn the layout; its braking points, grip, and lap-time targets belong to the simulation and example car.
For a written companion, Paradigm Shift Racing’s AMP Track Notes offers a paid circuit-guide map. Use your event instructor for real-world driving references.
