Roebling Road doesn't have grandstands. It doesn't have a jumbotron. It doesn't even let spectators in. What it does have is 2.02 miles of fast, flowing tarmac draped in Spanish moss, ten minutes from I-95, and some of the best HPDE events in the Southeast on a calendar that runs over 300 days a year.

The Track

Roebling Road Raceway is 2.02 miles with 9 turns. Originally opened in 1959 as Savannah International Raceway, it sits on land outside Bloomingdale, Georgia, just a short drive from downtown Savannah. The track was repaved in 2022, giving it a smooth, grippy surface that's a significant upgrade from the abrasive original pavement that used to eat tires.

Nine turns doesn't sound like much until you drive them. The layout is deceptively fast — long straights leading into corners that demand you carry speed, a reducing-radius turn that tightens on you mid-corner, and an off-camber section that punishes anyone who hasn't learned what "the car is telling you something" means.

The beauty of Roebling is the rhythm. It's a flowing track where each corner sets up the next one. Get into a groove and the lap times come down steadily. It's not a track that beats you up — it's a track that teaches you. Huge run-off areas and only a single wall on the entire circuit mean that mistakes are forgiving. Your ego takes the hit, not your fender.

This is why Roebling is the track where so many Southeast drivers learn to drive. The SCCA's Buccaneer Region owns the track outright — it's one of the only circuits in the country owned by a local racing club. That means the schedule is packed with driver education events, club races, time trials, and testing days from every organization you can think of: SCCA, NASA, PCA, BMW CCA, and many more.

Getting There

Roebling Road Raceway Roebling Road Bloomingdale, GA 31302

Ten minutes from I-95, 11 miles from Savannah International Airport (SAV), and a short drive from historic downtown Savannah. If you're coming from Atlanta, it's about 4 hours east on I-16.

A few things to know: Roebling Road is a non-spectator track. You must be with a hosting group to enter. There's a strict 103 dB sound limit (104 dB for vintage cars). Race fuel is available on-site — 98 unleaded and 110 leaded. The paddock is functional and well-maintained, with electrical hookups and waste fluid stations.
