About the track

Roebling Road sits among trees and Spanish moss in Georgia’s coastal low country. The nine-turn main course is known for fast combinations of corners, giving it a flowing character that contrasts with circuits built around tight hairpins and repeated stop-start sections.

The track is 33 feet wide and 2.02 miles long. Its official course description also identifies an alternate layout using a three-turn chicane on the front straight, bringing the count to 12. This guide and the headline figures refer to the nine-turn main course; check your event’s configuration before studying a lap.

A little history

The circuit began as Savannah International Raceway, developed by Robert Roebling and John Reuter in the late 1950s. Tom Nehl helped revive it in the 1970s, and the Roebling Road name was adopted in 1976. The Buccaneer Region of the SCCA bought the facility in 1992. Its history of the track describes the volunteers and club members who kept it operating and improved its facilities.
